McClain High School’s senior showcase located by the McClain High School office has been featuring artwork by Shane Stone and Audrey Tharp. Though their work is very different, each piece vividly shows the two students’ interests.

Having an interest in geography, Stone’s artwork includes maps of several types, including fictional places. “All of my art pieces are drawings of maps — places both fictional and real,” he said.

Stone claims to be apprehensive about his artwork being displayed; however, since its arrival to the showcase, he has received numerous compliments on his work.

“Art is the only thing I am particularly good at,” he said. “I'm not especially skilled in much more.”

Art is something Stone is especially passionate about. His inspiration for his extraordinarily detailed artwork “comes from the world and the maps of it.”
