3 Hillsboro FFA members attend Washington Leadership Conference

On July 11, three members of the Hillsboro FFA Chapter had the opportunity to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., hosted by the National FFA Organization.
Hillsboro’s members in attendance were Emily Pence, Brittany Rhoads and Pyper Ross.
There were 340 FFA members attending the session from all over the United States. The weeklong leadership conference had 12 workshops to help FFA members become better leaders and to give them ideas for their “living to serve plans” and how they can reach out to their communities and better serve their chapters.

Members also got to tour the D.C. area, and see Arlington Cemetery, the White House and many other monuments.
While in Washington D.C., members participated in a community service program. At this session, FFA members made 61,248 meals to help the hungry of Washington D.C.
“I’ve learned so many newfound leadership skills and gained confidence in myself,” Hillsboro FFA member Emily Pence said. “This is such a life-changing experience.”
