David Allen Palmer

David Allen Palmer, 72, of New Vienna, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Jamestown, the son of the late Arthur E. Palmer and Alma Grace (Lute) Palmer.

David was a truck driver for over 30 years, and he was a member of the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church. He had a ministry of music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in different churches. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and all animals. He will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his wife, Drucilla May Palmer, whom he married Dec. 19, 2002; a daughter, Michelle (Baron) Rice; five grandsons, Brayden Kenney, Camden Kenney, Deagen Kenney, Kyler Rice and Karter Rice; four siblings, Connie Kingsolver, Frances (Mal) Vaughn, Susie Palmer and James Palmer; his beloved dog, Bella; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Palmer; and a grandson, Trey Kenney.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
