Darlene Marie Ford
Darlene Marie Ford, 56, of Hillsboro, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023 at Highland District Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Darlene was born on March 22, 1967, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late James L. Ford Jr. and Dorothy (Clemons) Ford. Darlene was a 1985 Hillsboro High School graduate, and she attended Southern State Community College. She worked at Airborne Express for over 15 years and at Highland District Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church, and she also volunteered for many years with the Our Daily Bread food program at the church. She enjoyed bowling, playing corn hole, Singo, she loved all sports especially the Oakland Raiders and the Atlanta Braves, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Jamie Ford of Hillsboro; goddaughter, Tiara Hudson; and her children, Brayden Lane, Bryauna Lane and Braxton Harris; three siblings, Myrtle (Tarone) Burns, Sally Ford and James (Darlene) Ford all of Hillsboro; two nephews, Tahree Burns and Joshua Ford both of Hillsboro; a special friend, Herb Coleman of Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church, 133 E Walnut St., Hillsboro. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church. Pastor Derek Russell will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
