Greenfield Board of
Zoning Appeals to meet
    The Greenfield Board of Zoning Appeals has scheduled a meeting for
Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. This meeting will be held in the third-floor
council/conference room to discuss and consider two variance requests by
Dan Stuckey for Parcel #27-13-001-013.00.

Leesburg meetings
The Village of Leesburg announced two committee meetings set for Aug. 17.
The public grounds committee will meet Aug. 17 at 4:45 p.m. to review a new
structure compliance permit.
    The finance committee will meet Aug. 17 at 5 p.m. to discuss village
funding.
 
HCNJFAD Board
to meet Aug. 15
    The Highland County North Joint Fire and Ambulance District Board of
Trustees meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. at 200 South St.,
Leesburg.

HHS alumni golf outing Aug. 12
    The Hillsboro High School Alumni Golf Outing will be held Aug. 12 at the
Hillsboro Elks golf course.
    Tee times are available in the morning and afternoon. The cost is $300
per team.
    Team and skill prizes, as well as raffle prizes, will be awarded, along
with a $10,000 hole-in-one prize. Lunch and dinner appetizers will be
provided. Hole sponsorships are available upon request for $100 (includes a
sign recognizing each sponsor located at tee box).    If you have questions,

HCCAO golf outing
    The Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. will host their
17th annual golf outing on Friday, Aug. 18 at Buckeye Hills Country Club
located at 7261 Limes Road in Greenfield. Registration will open at 8 a.m.
    They are just beginning to take reservations for teams and hole
sponsors, and there are plenty of opportunities for your business to be
represented at the event as an event sponsor, corporate sponsor, team, hole
or prize sponsor. Shotgun scramble time is 9 a.m. Registration fees include
the greens fee for 18 holes of golf on the beautiful course, a cart and a
lunch provided by All Seasons Catering. Prizes will be awarded to first- and
second-place teams and most honest. Great door prizes are also going to be
given away. Golfers who participate will also gain the satisfaction of
knowing all proceeds go back to the organization to help support those being

Beggars' night Oct. 26
    Trick or treat (beggars' night) will be observed in the City of
Hillsboro on Thursday, Oct. 26 during the hours of 6-8 p.m.

Sardinia Historical
Society fundraiser Aug. 12
    The Sardinia Historical Society will be fundraising at the Mt. Orab
Kibler Lumber grill out on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The society
thanks Kibler Lumber for this opportunity to raise funds and asks for your
support in stopping by for lunch that day.

    The society meets the first Monday of each month at 10 a.m. at the
Sardinia United Methodist Church, 105 S. Main St., Sardinia. All are
welcome.

Board of Elections
    The Highland County Board of Elections would like to notify the public
of its weekly meetings, to be held every Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the board
office until further notice. The public is welcome to attend.  

HUBA meetings
    The Hillsboro Uptown Business Association meetings are held at 8:30 a.m.
at the Highland County Administration Building in the basement room. The
dates for the 2023 meetings are: Sept. 12, Oct. 10 and Nov. 14. Anyone who
has a business or is interested in starting a business is welcome to join
HUBA at a meeting.

Senior food donations
    The Highland County Church of Christ is giving out senior food boxes on
the third Friday of each month. These are boxes of canned and shelf-stable
items, plus cheese. To qualify, you must be age 60 or older; submit an
income form (to be filled out one time); and pick up your food box between
11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the third Friday of each month at 6670 U.S. Route 50 West,

HCCAO Board meeting dates announced
    The Highland County Community Action Organization Governing Board will
meet in 2023 on the following dates: Aug. 22, Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 28 and
Dec. 26.

Brushcreek Township
trustees' meetings
    The Highland County Brushcreek Township Trustees will hold the 2023
meetings for the entire fiscal year on the first and third Thursday of each
month at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and will be held at 7 N.
Chestnut Street, Sinking Spring 45172.

HDH Board meetings
    The Highland District Hospital Board of Governors meetings for 2023 will
be held on the last Wednesday of each month, January-November, at 7 p.m. in
the Education Room at Highland District Hospital. Meeting schedules for
specific committees can be obtained by contacting Melinda Russell at (937)
393-6101.

Hillsboro meetings
    The City of Hillsboro has issued the following meeting schedule for
2023.
    • City Council meets the Thursday after the second Monday of the month
at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Courtroom.
    • The Planning Commission meets the third Monday of the month at 5:30
p.m. in the old firehouse on Governor Trimble Place.
    • The Revolving Loan Fund committee has quarterly meetings scheduled for
the following dates: Aug. 16 and Nov. 15. Meetings are held at the City
Building at 10 a.m.
    • The Community Improvement Corporation meets the second Wednesday of
the month at 9 a.m. at the City Building.
    • Meetings for the Records Commission and Civil Service Commission are
TBA.
    Changes in schedule or special meetings must be published a minimum of
24 hours prior to meeting time.

Reformers Unanimous
    Reformers Unanimous offers Christian support for all types of addiction
every Friday from 7-9 p.m. Meetings are held at Greenfield Area Christian
Center, located at 912 North Fifth Street in Greenfield. Call (937) 515-6748

Peace Lutheran Church
    Peace Lutheran Church continues to serve as the location for AA, NA and
AlAnon. There is also a model train group which sets up at the Highland
County Fair and has their meetings at the church. Call Peace Lutheran at

Lynchburg Historical Society
    The Lynchburg Historical Society will be open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-2
p.m. The Society is located at 151 S. Main Street near the police office.

New Life Church & Ministries
resumes food giveaway
    New Life Church & Ministries, located at 6101 S.R. 247 in Hillsboro, has
resumed its weekly food giveaway. The food pantry will be offered every
Friday from 1-4 p.m. Individuals are asked to wait until after 10 a.m. at
the absolute earliest to get in line for the food giveaways.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
    The Hillsboro St. Vincent de Paul Society, a ministry of St. Mary
Catholic Church, announces its upcoming schedule of outreach sessions. The
sessions are opportunities to meet with SVdP volunteers to discuss needs for
assistance with such things as food, utility bills, transportation, clothing
or furniture. The outreach sessions generally are held the second Saturday
and the fourth Wednesday of each month. The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, July 8 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.; and Wednesday, July 26 from 60-7:30
p.m. People are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Assistance is
