Betty Marie Kilgore, 79, of Fincastle, Ohio, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 5, 1944 in Adams County, the daughter of the late Raymond Joseph and Pauline (Clark) Moore.
On Oct. 9, 1998, she married Ralph Philip "R. Phil" Kilgore, who passed away on June 8, 2018.
Betty was a member of West Fork Baptist Church and former member of the Sardinia Bible Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years and taught Sunday School. She worked as the activities director at Locust Ridge Nursing Home and Clermont Senior Services for many years before she retired. Her favorite job was co-hosting the "I Love Country Show" on the radio station 99.5 with her husband, Ralph. Betty was a wonderful seamstress and loved to bake. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly.
Surviving are her four children, Cindy Chaney of Sardinia, Tina (John) Lewis of Sardinia, Rudy (Kristina) Orr of Sardinia and John (Mary) Orr of Eastgate; 10 grandchildren, Brice (Ashleigh) Piatt, Trevor (Erica) Chaney, Jordan Orr, Logan Orr, John L. (Maria) Lewis, IV, Wyatt Chaney, Tressie (Omar) Walcott, Katelyn (Michael) Maloney, Dalton Orr and Catherine Orr; 13 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Jack Moore of Sardinia, Johnny (Kim) Moore of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Sharon (Randy) Hackley of Frankfort; stepdaughter, Mary (Tom) Moreland of Enola, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Thurman; halfbrother, Ray Moore; and halfsister, Evelyn Diesel.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at West Fork Baptist Church, 10127 West Fork Road, Georgetown, with the Rev. Paul Armacost officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardinia Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
