Batavia Post investigating after Goshen man injured in motorcycle crash
The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle serious injury crash involving a motorcycle that occurred Tuesday, May 23 at approximately 7:08 p.m. on Newtonsville Road near Lake Drive in Wayne Township, Clermont County.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2006 Harley Davidson Street Glide, operated by Joseph R. Cales, 62, of Goshen, was traveling northwest on Newtonsville Road and failed to negotiate a curve. Cales was thrown from the motorcycle prior to the motorcycle coming to a final rest off the right side of the roadway.
Cales was transported by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
On June 6, Cales passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Township Fire Department and EMS and Danbury’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
