Batavia OSHP Post investigating two-vehicle fatal crash

Batavia - The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles on S.R. 125, Tate Township, Clermont County at approximately 8:16 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2010 Suzuki Equator, operated by Bruce Schatzman, 51, of Amelia, was traveling southeast on SR 125 when the vehicle lost control. Mr. Schatzman traveled left of center and was struck by a 2022 Ford Maverick, operated by Ernest Boone, 76, of Georgetown. 

Both vehicles traveled off the north side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Mr. Schatzman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at Bethesda North Hospital.

Mr. Boone was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to UC Medical Center for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Assisting agencies on scene were the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, Bethel Police Department, Bethel-Tate Fire & EMS, Monroe EMS, and the Ohio Department of
Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation.
