5 Whiteoak Wildcats selected 2023 OHSBCA All-Ohio

Following a season where the Whiteoak Wildcats reached the Division IV Regional Final game, five of their players have earned All-Ohio honors as selected by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association for the 2023 season.
The Wildcats had two players earn first-team All-Ohio honors in Division IV and three players selected to second-team honors.
The first-team selections were senior Landon Barnett and junior Eli Roberts. The players earning second-team honors were seniors Nate Price, Luken Roades and Carson Emery.
Roberts was selected as a first-team second baseman, who in 75 at-bats batted .413, with a .531 on-base percentage, a .640 slugging percentage and a .847 fielding percentage.
The second baseman totaled 31 hits (including eight doubles, three home runs) in 2023, scored 29 runs, had 38 RBI, 18 walks, was hit by a pitch three times and stole 20 bases.
Barnett was a first-team selection as a utility player for both his batting and pitching performances this season, In his senior season, Barnett was 7-1 on the mound with a 1.02 ERA in nine starts (nine total games, six complete games). His pitching totals also included three shutouts, 43 innings pitched, eight earned runs allowed, 21 walks allowed, 23 hits allowed, and he struck out 76 batters.
Offensively, Barnett had a .474 batting average with a .548 on-base percentage and a .768 slugging percentage. In 95 at-bats, Barnett totaled 45 hits (11 doubles, seven triples, one home run), with 37 RBI, 45 runs scored, 32 steals, 17 walks, and he was hit by a pitch once. On defense, Barnett had a .927 fielding percentage.
For his second-team selection, Price — a senior catcher — had a .378 batting average, with 28 hits, nine doubles, one triple, two home runs, 34 runs scored, 28 RBI, 21 walks, six hits by pitches and he had 21 steals in 74 at-bats in ‘23.
Price also had an on-base percentage of .539, with a .608 slugging percentage and a .991 fielding percentage.
As a second-team selection at shortstop, Roades finished with a .447 batting average his senior season, with 34 hits (eight doubles, three triples, two home runs), 41 runs, 20 RBI, 27 walks, and he was hit by a pitch three times in 76 at-bats.
The senior shortstop Roades also collected 38 steals, a .598 on-base percentage and .711 slugging percentage, plus he finished with a .918 fielding percentage.
For his second-team selection, Emery batted .296 his senior season as an outfield selection. Emery also finished with 24 hits in 81 at-bats, while scoring 27 runs and having 33 RBI. Emery’s final hit total included four doubles.
Emery also finished the ’23 season with 18 walks, he was hit by a pitch five times, and he grabbed. 37 stolen bases. Other totals for Emery included a .423 on-base percentage, a .346 slugging percentage, and his fielding percentage was .958 for the season.
