Wildcats earn SHAC bowling title

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference recently completed their conference bowling championships, where the Whiteoak Wildcats boys bowling team finished as SHAC champions.
Whiteoak won the two-day tournament with a score of 5,637 pins, followed by Highland County counterpart Lynchburg-Clay in second at 5,484. Fairfield was fifth at 4,430.
Other team results included Eastern, third place (5,171); Ripley, fourth place (4,918); and Fayetteville, sixth place (4,380).
For individual scoring, Highland County also excelled with the top four finishers. Nathan Campbell of Lynchburg-Clay won the championships at 1,032 pins, followed by Whiteoak’s Jake Ward in second at 1,028. In third was Lynchburg-Clay’s Wesley Downing (980), with Whiteoak’s Coleman Hofer finishing fourth (960).
Also for the conference champions Whiteoak, scoring included: Tayvin Becraft, 875; Trace Thompson, 873; Chase Stultz, 687; and Bryson Lucas, 113.
The runner-up Lynchburg-Clay’s individual results included: Jacob Hutchinson, 894; Drake Kirk, 802; Kaydon Fyffe, 491; and Kris Osborn, 354.
For Fairfield, individual totals were as follows: Mason Goddard, 848; Wyatt Morrow, 736; Ethan Fetters, 733; Travis Carter, 684; and Jordan Bennington, 651.
In the girls championship (no team scores provided), Fairfield’s bowlers were the top five individuals in the event. The Lady Lions were led by champion Madison Miller at 1,011 pins, followed by Hannah Ferguson in second at 886. In third was Kara Gleadle (848). Sadie Knisley (836) was fourth, and Sara Knisley was fifth (796).
Lynchburg-Clay was led by Sophia Balon at 795, followed by Bridget Wilkin at 775. Other Lynchburg-Clay scores were: Milain Burns, 736; Sophie Richardson, 677; Hannah Smith, 386; and Elizabeth Moberly, 210.
Whiteoak’s top finisher was Autumn Jodrey at 655, and teammate Aleana Fisher was close behind at 645. Also for Whiteoak, bowlers competing were Harli Warfield (609), Ashley Lamb (489) and Claire Ames (295).
