Wildcats drop SHAC game to Peebles
The Whiteoak Wildcats played tough against Southern Hills Athletic Conference foe Peebles Friday night, scoring double-figures in each quarter, but in the end, the Indians of PHS were just a little too much to contain, resulting in a 61-49 Wildcat loss.
In the game played at the home of the Wildcats, Whiteoak and the Indians were tied at 11-11 at the conclusion of the first quarter with Jacob Burns netting six of his 12 total points in the game, including the first of his three 3-pointers.
WHS (0-1, 1-2) added 12 more points in the second frame but allowed 21 to the visitors, leading to a halftime deficit of 32-23.

In the third, the ’Cats added 11 more points, but PHS answered with 16 points of their own for a 48-34 advantage, and in the final eight minutes, the Wildcats outscored the Indians, 15-13.
Second in scoring for WHS was Chase Carraher with nine points, then Trevor Martin added eight points and Brandon Ashbaugh totaled seven points in the loss.
Kyle Marler followed with five points, and Cody McClure scored four points. Also for WHS, Stephen Ross and Trevor Yeager each scored two points.
Peebles (1-0, 2-0) was led by Tanner Arey with 14 points, followed by Ethan Parrett with 13 points and Camron Gordley with 12 points.
From the free-throw line, the Indians were 11-of-22, while the Wildcats went 10-of-17.
