Wildcats drop home game to New Boston; lose at Eastern

The Whiteoak Wildcats played tough against the visiting New Boston Tigers on Saturday night (Dec. 14), and on Friday (Dec. 13) at Eastern Brown, but they were unable to gain a victory, losing in both conference and non-conference play.
On Saturday, the Wildcats lost the non-conference game by a 58-50 score.
In the game on Saturday, the Wildcats (1-4) had three players reach double-figure scoring with Landon Barnett leading the way with 13 points, as he totaled three two-point field goals, one 3-pointer and he was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Also in double figures was Brayden Yeager with 11 points, as he totaled five two-point baskets and he was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
The final player with double-figure scoring for Whiteoak was Nick Bailey with 10 points, as he made four two-point baskets and was 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.
New Boston led WHS by a 15-13 score after one complete quarter, then they did the same by a 19-16 score in the second for a halftime lead of 34-29 for the visitors.
In the second half, WHS was outscored 9-7 in the third and 15-14 in the fourth for the nine-point loss.
Other final scoring for the Wildcats included six points each from Bradley Ashbaugh and Josh Hughes, plus two points each by Carson Emery and Gavin Temple.
Whiteoak finished with 19 two-point field goals as a team, plus made one 3-pointer, and they were 9-of-14 as a team from the free-throw line.
New Boston was led in scoring by Tanner Voiers with 24 points (three 3-pointers) and Kyle Sexton with 21 points (one 3-pointer).
New Boston totaled 15 two-point field goals, four 3-pointers and were 16-of-25 in their free throw attempts.
On Friday night, the Wildcats lost on the road to the Eastern Warriors, 82-45 in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game.
Eastern started off strong with an 18-point first quarter, followed by a 23-point second frame, while Whiteoak had a nine-point first quarter and eight points in the second for a halftime score of 41-17 deficit for the Wildcats.
In the second half, the Eastern scored 25 points in the third and had 16 points in the fourth frame. Whiteoak added 11 points to their total in the third frame and 17 points in the final fourth frame.
Whiteoak was led on the score sheet by Landon Barnett with 15 points, as the freshman totaled two 3-pointers and was 9-of-12 from the free-throw line.
Scoring nine points for WHS was Bradley Ashbaugh, sinking three 3-pointers with two in the first quarter and one in the third frame.
Next in the scoring column was Nick Bailey with seven points, and from there the Whiteoak scoring consisted of six points from Garrett Miller, Brayden Yeager with five points and rounding out the scoring was Carson Emery with three points.
