Whiteoak's Doug Hughes named Southeast District Div. III Coach of the Year

MOWRYSTOWN – Whiteoak High School cross-country coach Doug Hughes was recently named Southeast District Division III Coach of the Year.

This year was Hughes’ 17th season as Whiteoak High School’s cross-country coach. Over his 17-year career, Hughes has guided his team to a 64-20 record.

This year, the Whiteoak boys' cross-country team won their first league title in 35 years and Hughes was named Coach of the Year for the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. The team also qualified for regionals this year for just the second time in school history.
