Whiteoak’s Carson Emery, Nate Price earn All-Ohio honors

MOWRYSTOWN — The Whiteoak Wildcats had two juniors — Carson Emery and Nate Price — earn a spot on the 2022 Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Ohio list for their performances during the 2022 spring baseball season.
Emery was selected to the second team, and Price was named honorable mention for Division IV.
This season, Emery — who played centerfield and pitcher — finished with a .376 batting average with 33 runs, 32 hits (including 12 doubles), 37 RBI, 25 walks and 42 steals in 31 games with 85 at-bats. He was also hit by a pitch twice and had nine sacrifice flies, plus finished with an .488 on-base percentage and .518 slugging percentage.
While in centerfield, Emery had 35 put-outs, five assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage. Emery made four appearances on the mound (three starts), where he pitched 14 innings with an ERA of 0.50 with just one earned run allowed and five walks. Emery also struck out 15 batters and had a 2-0 record with a WHIP of 1.214.
Price was Whiteoak’s catcher in ’22, and he also played third base. In 31 games for Whiteoak, Price had 78 at-bats, where he totaled 30 hits (10 doubles), 27 runs, 36 RBI, 26 walks and his batting average was .385.
Also for the Wildcats’ All-Ohio honorable mention player, Price had four sacrifices, he was hit by a pitch four times, he collected 23 steals and had a .536 OBP and .513 SLG.
Playing mostly catcher this season, Price finished with 204 put-outs, had 26 assists and had a .962 fielding percentage.
Whiteoak this season finished with an overall record of 21-10, with a Southern Hills Athletic Conference record of 12-1 as they were Division II champions. WHS also won a sectional championship, a district championship and played in the regional semifinals.
