Whiteoak Wildcats win SHAC boys track and field championship

The Whiteoak Wildcats boys track and field team were crowned the 2022 Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions Friday at Manchester High School.
WHS won the boys title with a score of 168 points, while North Adams was second at 105 points. In third was Peebles at 95, and the rest of the conference scoring included: Eastern (64), Fairfield (48), Manchester (37), West Union (37), Lynchburg-Clay (20), Ripley (15) and Fayetteville (9).
In the girls event, North Adams won with a score of 164, followed by Fairfield at 116.50. West Union was third at 66.50, and the remaining scoring included: Eastern (65), Whiteoak (62), Peebles (46), Fayetteville (41), Lynchburg-Clay (25), Manchester (17) and Ripley (1).

The Fairfield 4x800m relay team of Kennedy Zink, Ginny Trent, Kendal Welling and Faith Donley were second with a time of 10:53.87.
The 100m hurdles event saw Fairfield’s Avery Teeters finish in third with a time of 17.52.
In the 100m dash, Whiteoak’s Lydia Kittner was first with a time of 12.65. In fourth was Whiteoak teammate Alexis Kennedy at 13.98, and in fifth place was Fairfield’s Campbell with a time of 14.01.
Fairfield’s 4x200m relay team of Hallie Haines, Olivia Bellamy, Jadi Howland and Teeters won with a time of 1:55.80 for first place. In third was the Whiteoak team of Lola Lopez, Claire Ames, Adrionna Phillips and Kennedy at 1:58.59.
The 4x100m relay champion was Fairfield as the team of McKenzie Tolle, Bellamy, Emily Price and Caitlin Campbell won with a time of 55.57. Whiteoak was third as the team of Lopez, Ames, Phillips and Kennedy finished at 57.12. In fourth place was Lynchburg-Clay as their team of Samantha Merry, Bryanna Hutchinson, Miranda Smith and Olivia VanFleet had a time of 57.19.
The 400m dash had Whiteoak’s Kittner as the champion with a time of 59.25, and in second was Fairfield’s Haines at 1:03.65.
Fairfield’s Teeters was third in the 300m hurdles at 50.47, and in fifth was Whiteoak’s Reagan Newton with a time of 52.97.
Donley was second place in the 800m run at 2:25.65 for Fairfield.
The 200m dash had Fairfield’s Campbell finish third at 29.03.
Fairfield’s 4x400m relay team of Teeters, Zink, Haines and Donley won the event with a time of 4:20.33.
The discus throw event saw Fairfield’s Hannah Hodson place third with a throw of 85-00. In fifth was Lynchburg-Clay’s Jaden Moberly at 77-06.
Haines of Fairfield won the high jump event at 5-00.00, and in fourth place was Lynchburg-Clay’s Nova Pohl at 4-06.00.
Whiteoak’s Kittner was second in the long jump even at 16-05.50 and in fourth was Lopez of WHS at 14-10.25.
Fairfield’s Paris Priest was the winner of the shot put event as she had a throw of 34-04.50. In fifth place was Fairfield’s McKinley Cox at 27-07.00.

The 1600m race of had Eyre as the top finisher with a first place time of 4:51.77 for the Whiteoak team, and in third was WHS teammate Robbie Raines at 5:04.18.
Whiteoak’s 4x100m relay team of Wessner, Logan Bieler, Bailey and Newton won the event with a time of 46.98. In third place was Fairfield as Janre Lerio, Brayden Davis, Larkin Friend and Teeters had a time of 49.97.

Teeters was first place in the 300m hurdles at 43.50, and in third was Whiteoak’s Bryce Vanhoy at 47.89. In fourth was Lynchburg-Clay’s Jayden Hixson at 48.50.
Whiteoak’s Blair was first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:07.57 and in third was Whiteoak’s Evans at 2:20.96.

The boys discus event had Fairfield’s Isaac Burns in fourth place with a time of 88-03.
