Whiteoak Wildcats win by 6 points at Northwest

The Whiteoak Wildcats defeated the Northwest Mohawks Tuesday night by a 46-40 score at NWHS in non-conference action.

WHS trailed by a 10-2 score at the conclusion of the first quarter but won the second frame at 14-13 for a halftime score of 23-16 in favor Northwest.

Whiteoak came out of the locker room and won the third frame at 14-10, with Northwest leading the game, 33-30 going into the fourth quarter.

In the final frame, WHS broke out for 16 points, while the Mohawks scored seven points.

Whiteoak was led in scoring with 11 points from Bradley Ashbaugh and Josh Hughes. Ashbaugh totaled one two-point basket and three 3-pointers in the win. Hughes finished with five two-point baskets and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Carson Emery finished with eight points, followed by Brayden Yeager with seven points. Also adding points for WHS were Landon Barnett with six points, and Nick Bailey, who scored three points.

WHS totaled 15 two-point baskets, four 3-pointers and they were 4-of-10 from the free-throw line. Northwest scored 15 two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and went 7-of-17 from the free-throw line.

Northwest was led by Campbell with 16 points.
