Whiteoak Wildcats boys cross-country wins at Unioto

The Whiteoak Wildcats boys cross-country team won the Unioto Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10 out of a field of 10 schools.

The Wildcats won with a team time of 1:33:27.74, with an average time of 18:41.55.

Also in the event were McClain in eighth place and Hillsboro in ninth place overall.

The top finisher for Whiteoak was Wade Evans in sixth place with a time of 18:05.34. In 10th place was Christian Price (18:42.47), and in 11th overall was Robbie Haines (18:42.78).

Conner Butler was 14th place at 18:52.60, and in 15th was Weston Blair with a time of 19:04.55. Next was Garrett Miller in 39th place (20:38.07), and in 41st place was Tristan Helterbrand at 20:53.23. Also for WHS, Gabe Sheppard had a time of 29:07.38, while teammate Jake Ward finished with at time of 32:32.55.

Hillsboro’s top finisher was Garet Thompson in 40th place at 20:41.22. McClain's top finisher was Garett George in 35th place at 20:32.11

There were a total of 99 runners in the race.

In the boys middle school race, Landen Eyre of Whiteoak won by 36 seconds with a time of 11:34.
