Whiteoak Lady ‘Cats fall to East Clinton

MOWRYSTOWN – Improvement was shown by the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats on Wednesday (Nov. 24) as they battled tough against the visiting East Clinton Lady Astros, but in the end the non-conference foe was too much, leading to a 66-52 loss.

East Clinton scored 30 points in the first frame, while WHS added 16 points to their total. The second quarter saw WHS score 11 points, while ECHS scored 10 points, leading to a 40-27 halftime deficit for the host Whiteoak squad.

In the second half, the Lady Astros won the third frame at 18-14, but WHS outscored ECHS, 11-8 in the fourth quarter.

Jaylie Parr led WHS with 27 points, finishing 11-of-29 from the field, including making two 3-pointers. She was also 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Parr added one rebound, one assist and one steal.

Bri Hill finished with nine points and collected 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Lydia Carr for WHS finished with seven points, while adding six rebounds and two assists to her game totals. Darby Yeager finished with four points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

Also for WHS in the scoring column were Kelsey Monteith with three points (a 3-pointer) and Madison Thompson with two points.

Molly McMullen finished the game with seven rebounds, one assist and six steals. Brooke Campbell totaled two rebounds for the Lady ‘Cats.
