Whiteoak graduate completes 1st season at Bowling Green

Former All-Ohio pitcher and Whiteoak graduate Kiley Sosby completed her first season of Division I softball with Bowling Green State University this past spring, playing in 31 games as she began to build her resumé at the collegiate level just like she did when pitching for the Lady Wildcats.
Sosby, who was a freshman this past season, played in 31 games for the Falcons, including 24 starts. She pitched in 26 total games, where she finished with a 3.82 ERA, including an overall mark of 9-8 with seven complete games and one shutout.
In 110 innings pitched for Bowling Green, she led the team in not only wins, ERA and strikeouts (96, including 31 in conference play), but the WHS graduate was also tied for appearances and innings pitched. The opposition hit .225 when Sosby was in the circle, which was not only the team-low, but the fifth-lowest opponent batting average allowed in the entire Mid-American Conference (MAC). She was also 10th in the MAC in strikeouts.
Also in the circle, Sosby faced 413 batters.
Sosby had 10 hits at the plate with two doubles, one home run, seven RBIs and she totaled four runs. In the field, she didn’t commit an error all season in 39 chances.
Back to Sosby in the circle this past season, the freshman gained her first win with the Falcons on Feb. 14 against Robert Morris, a game where she allowed just one run on eight hits and six strikeouts. That game, she was also 2-for-4 at the plate.
Sosby ended the season in the Top 15 in 13-of-25 categories tracked for all MAC pitchers.
In the classroom, she also made the Dean's List for the spring semester.
While at Whiteoak, Sosby had over 1,000 strikeouts in four seasons, being in 10th place all-time in the OHSAA record books with an official total of 1,187 strikeouts, along with numerous no-hitters and perfect games.
