Whiteoak baseball wins 3 recent games against Peebles, Southern and Fayetteville

In three recent games for the Whiteoak Wildcats they gained two Southern Hills Athletic Conference victories, plus a non-conference win as they defeated Peebles and Fayetteville in SHAC games, plus won against Southern in non-conference play.
WHITEOAK 11, PEEBLES 1 (5 innings)
The Whiteoak Wildcats earned a run-rule victory against SHAC foe Peebles, winning in five innings in a game played at Whiteoak High School.
The SHAC win saw the Wildcats start the game off with authority by plating seven runs, followed by a two-run second inning and two runs in the third for the 11-run total.
Peebles scored their lone run in the top of the fifth inning.
Luken Roades finished with one hits, two runs, one RBI, one walk and he had two steals in the SHAC victory over Peebles.
Also for the Wildcats, Connor Butler had one RBI, while teammate Carson Emery collected one hit, two runs, one RBI, one double, one walk, a sacrifice and one steal.
Nate Price scored a run, and David Donohoo finished with one run, two RBI, one walk and a sacrifice.
WHS saw Ian Griffith finish 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and a steal. Landon Barnett scored one run and drew a walk.
Eli Roberts finished with one run, one RBI, a walk, a sacrifice and one steal.
Kaden Moon-Stone was the winning pitcher as he pitched all five innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and three walks. He finished the game with five strikeouts and moved his overall record to 1-1 on the season.
“We had an impressive first inning that carried us today,” WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. “We scored the seven runs on 54 pitches.
“After our emotional comeback win Thursday, we emphasized having both eyes on today. Carson Emery, Ian Griffith, Luken Roades, Kaden Moon-Stone and David Donohoo were productive for us today offensively. This was also a solid divisional win for us.”

WHITEOAK 14, SOUTHERN 1 (5 innings)
In non-conference action on Wednesday, April 13 — a game played at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe — the Wildcats defeated the Southern Tornadoes 14-1 in five innings as WHS dominated the contest with 12 hits on the night.
Whiteoak scored one run in the first inning and followed that with a 10-run second inning and three runs in the third for the 13-run victory.
Eight Wildcat players finished with at least one hit as Butler, Price, Barnett and Roberts each finished the game with two hits.
Butler finished 2-for-4 with two runs, one RBI and two steals. Price went 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, one walk and three steals on three attempts.
Barnett was 2-for-2 with three runs, one RBI and two steals. Roberts finished the game with a 2-for-2 night at the plate with two runs, two RBI, two steals and he was hit by a pitch.
In all, the Wildcats collected 12 steals.
Having one hit each for WHS were Luken Roades (one run, one RBI, one steal), Carson Emery (two runs, two walks, one steal), Griffith (two runs, one RBI, one walk, one steal) and Moon-Stone (one RBI, a double).
Roades was the winning pitcher for WHS. He pitched five innings, allowing one earned run on two hits, one wild pitch and one walk. Roades faced 18 batters and moved his overall mark to 1-1 on the season.
“The most satisfying aspect of today was our ability to put it all together,” Veidt said, “Offense, defense, base running, we had no errors, we had .667 QABs and 12 stolen bases.
“It was good to get Luken on the mound. With the weather, he hasn’t gotten his usual work in. We had four guys with multiple hits, with those players being Butler, Price, Barnett and Roberts — Price being the most impressive with two booming doubles and two RBI, and he was the player of the game.”

Gaining another SHAC victory on Thursday, April 14, the Whiteoak Wildcats defeated the Fayetteville Rockets, 11-0 in five innings in a game played at Whiteoak High School, though WHS was the visiting team due to field conditions at Fayetteville.
WHS scored six runs in the top of the first and followed with four runs in the second inning, then added one run in the third.
For Whiteoak, they finished with eight hits, six walks and had 11 steals.
Having one hit each were Roades (two runs, one RBI, three walks, three steals), Butler (one run, one steal), Emery (one run, three RBI, one double, one walk), Price (one steal), Donohoo (one run, two HBP, one steal), Barnett (two runs, one RBI, one double, one steal), Roberts (two runs, one RBI, three steals) and Moon-Stone (one run, three RBI, one HBP, one steal).
Jacen Applegate was hit by a pitch to reach base in the game, while Griffith scored and drew a walk. Isaiah Rowe was also hit by a pitch to reach the bases, and Wyatt Ruark forced a walk.
Butler was the winning pitcher as he pitched five innings, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks, finishing with nine strikeouts. Butler is now 4-0 on the season.
“As a team, we continue to be selective at the plate, leading to hard contact and high offensive numbers,” Veidt said. “We forced them into a 55-pitch first inning, and that got us rolling today.
“Carson Emery and Kaden Moon-Stone each had big RBI outputs. Our team defense was outstanding with one freebie. Connor Butler continues to be dominant with nine strikeouts and allowing just one hit, which was a Texas league single to right field in the first inning.”
