Whiteoak baseball unveils 2018 State Final Four banner

On Friday, Dec. 14, the Whiteoak Wildcats baseball team was honored with the unveiling of their Division IV State Final Four banner to honor their historic 2018 season.
Whiteoak players and coaches from the 2018 season were on hand before Friday’s basketball game for the pregame ceremony, where they received a standing ovation for their success from last spring.
The Wildcats — who are coached by Chris Veidt — finished the season at 28-3 overall, setting a new all-time wins total for the baseball program at Whiteoak. They also were perfect in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play at 13-0, while also winning a Southeast District championship and their first regional championship (Region 15) en route to the state semifinals.

Whiteoak was also the regular-season OHSBCA State Poll champion. Also for the Wildcats’ play this past spring, Coach Veidt was selected as the 2018 NHSBCA Regional 4 Coach of the Year, as the award is for a region which includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. Veidt has been the baseball head coach at Whiteoak for the past 27 seasons, during which time he has earned 373 career wins.
In their program history, the Wildcats have won the SHAC championship in 1971, 1981, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2018. Their two district championships were won in 2013 and 2018.
