Whiteoak baseball stays at No. 1 in Week 3 OHSBCA Div. IV State Poll

The Whiteoak Wildcats baseball team — who finished the regular season at 23-1 overall — stays atop the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Division IV State Poll for Week 3 of voting.
In the poll released on Monday, the Wildcats were ranked at No. 1 for the second straight week, this time receiving 13 first-place votes, 10 second-place votes, four third-place votes and one fourth-place vote for 259 points total as they were 20-1 at the time of the voting.
Whiteoak this past week also clinched a perfect Southern Hills Athletic Conference championship, finishing their season at 13-0 in conference play, the second time they have achieved that feat in school history. WHS has also set a new program record with 23 wins thus far this season. Whiteoak opens tournament play on Tuesday, May 8 when they host the Peebles Indians at 5 p.m., a team they’ve defeated twice this season.
As for the rest of the Division IV state poll, in second place was Carey with 231 points, receiving five first-place votes, 14 second-place votes, one third-place vote, three fourth-place votes and two fifth-place votes for 231 points.
The remainder of the Top 5 included Lake Ridge Academy in third (two first place votes, 197 points), Toronto in fourth place (eight first place votes, 194 points) and St. Paul in fifth place (120 points). In sixth through 10th places are St. Henry (105), Lincolnview (95), Seneca East (94), Newton Local (79) and Hicksville (52).
Ranked 11th through 20th places are: New Bremen (43), Lima Central Catholic (28), Portsmouth Clay (21), Minster (9), Fort Loramie (6), Canterbury (3), Berne Union (2), Dalton (1) and Fisher Catholic (1).
In Divisions I-III the No. 1 ranked teams for Week 3 are Walsh Jesuit (Div. I), Wapakoneta (Div. II) and West Jefferson (Div. III).
