SHAC Girls Basketball Preview held at Peebles Friday night

The annual Southern Hills Athletic Conference Girls Basketball Preview was held at Peebles High School this past Friday night. All 10 teams participated in the preseason event, as each of the five games were two quarters in length.  

In the first game of the evening, the Ripley Lady Blue Jays defeated the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, 21-9.

The second game of the night saw the Fayetteville Lady Rockets take down the West Union Lady Dragons, 27-22. In the third game, the North Adams Lady Green Devils defeated the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, 31-15.

In the fourth game, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the Fairfield Lady Lions, 30-19. In the final game of the evening, the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors defeated Peebles Lady Indians, 19-14.

Last season (2017-18) the girls Division I SHAC co-champions were Eastern Brown and North Adams, who each were 12-1 in the conference. From there, the remainder of the SHAC Division I standings saw Lynchburg-Clay at 9-4, while Ripley and West Union were both 2-11.

In Division II of the SHAC, it was Fairfield who were crowned champions at 10-3 in the conference. Next were Manchester and Peebles at 7-6, while Fayetteville was 4-9 and Whiteoak was 0-13.
