McClain Lady Tigers win ’21 Spike and Dig championship

Saturday (Aug. 21) saw the McClain Lady Tigers gain two big wins to open the 2021 season by defeating the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs and the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats to take home the 2021 Spike and Dig volleyball championship with the event being held at Hillsboro High School.

In the win over Lynchburg-Clay in the semifinals, McClain won the best-of-3 format match in two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-10.

MHS went on to win the finals over Whiteoak in two sets with the final game having a score of 26-24.

In the first game, WHS defeated the host Hillsboro Lady Indians in three sets. HHS won first at 25-11, followed by Whiteoak winning at 25-12 and 25-18.

Results for the consolation game between Hillsboro and Lynchburg-Clay weren’t submitted.
