McClain hosts 2019 Adam Sharp Memorial
The 2019 Adam Sharp Memorial was held on Tuesday at the Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield, as West Union won the boys and Westfall won the girls events, respectively.
For the girls event, Westfall won with a final team score of 354, followed by West Union in second place at 432. Next was McClain in third place at 448, and in fourth was North Adams with a team score of 460.
The girls medalist on Tuesday was Maddi Shoults of Westfall with a score of 75.

In the boys event, West Union won with a score of 354, followed by Unioto at 346 for second place. In third overall was North Adams (355), followed by Manchester in fourth place at 373.
In fifth place out of 10 boys teams were the host McClain Tigers at 374, followed by Highland County counterpart Hillsboro at 396. Wrapping up the scoring were Jackson (397), Whiteoak (399), Washington (416) and Vinton County (454).
The medalist for the boys event was Ty Schobelock of Unioto with a score of 76.
The host Tigers were led on the golf course by Wesley Potts, who carded a score of 86 on the day. Coming in next for the Tigers were Trenton Newkirk at 89, Seth Wise with a 93 score and David Edwards at 106.
Hillsboro saw Gabe Mycroft have the top score for the Indians on Tuesday with an 88, followed by Gavin Puckett, who came in with a 91 final score in 18 holes at Buckeye Hills Country Club. Also for the Indians, Lawton Parry scored a 107 and Bryce Bledsoe finished at 110.
The Whiteoak Wildcats had a best score from Zach Harless with a score of 80. His score was followed by Ian Griffith with a score of 104, Clay Risner at 105 and Carson Emery finished the match with a 110 score.
The Lady Tigers were led by Bri Weller with a score of 87, while teammate Shayna Beatty came in the clubhouse with a score of 113. Also for McClain, Madison Beatty finished at 124 on the day. Emma Stegbauer also scored a 124 for the 18-hole event, and Cate Wells finished the match with a score of 127.
