Lynchburg-Clay hosts SHAC Boys Basketball Preview

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs hosted the 2016 Southern Hills Athletic Conference Boys Basketball Preview Friday night at LCHS, with each conference team playing two quarters.

For Highland County, the Whiteoak Wildcats tied with the Ripley Blue Jays,15-15. Leading the Wildcats in scoring was Zach Rand with five points, including a 3-pointer in the first quarter. Atlee Carr scored three points in the two-quarter exhibition game by sinking a 3-pointer.

After the completion of the first quarter, Whiteoak led by a 12-5 score.

In the final game of the night, the host Mustangs defeated the Fairfield Lions, 39-23. LC led 25-7 after the first quarter.

Leading LC in scoring was led in scoring by Eric McLaughlin with 13 points, while Joe Giordano scored 10 points and Brian Lampkin totaled nine points. For the Lions, Jensen Daulton led with seven points, while Cody Gragg and Jesse Current each had four points.
