Lady Lions shut out host Whiteoak

MOWRYSTOWN — Whiteoak hosted Fairfield in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference showdown, where the Lady Lions of Fairfield shut out the Lady Wildcats in a 6-0 victory, as senior Kaiti White pitched a one-hitter.

The Lady Wildcats starter Brooklyn Gross began the night with a scoreless first inning in the books. The second inning matched the first, keeping the game tied at zero. It wasn’t until the third inning that the Lady Lions scored their first three runs of the game, as Halle Hamilton, Lyndee Spargur and White scored to give Fairfield a 3-0 lead.

 


FHS scored again in the fifth and sixth innings, as Megan Gragg, White and Layla Hattan scored the final three runs of the game for FHS.

The lone hit of the game for the Lady Wildcats was by freshman Chandra Hill.

White closed out the game with 10 straight strikeouts in the fourth through seventh innings. White finished the game with 17 total strikeouts.

Gross pitched the whole game for the Lady Wildcats, giving up six runs (five earned) with one strikeout.
