Lady ‘Cats lose at home to Northwest

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats hosted the Northwest Lady Mohawks on Dec. 30, where they lost in non-conference play by a 50-19 score at WHS.

In the loss, Whiteoak trailed 20-7 at the end of the first quarter, followed by losing the second frame at 13-4 for a halftime deficit of 33-11. In the second half, Northwest won the third frame at 8-4, and in the fourth frame the Lady Mohawks won the frame at 9-4.

Whiteoak was led in scoring by Cylee Bratton with 11 points, including seven points in the first quarter off three baskets and one free-throw conversion. Bratton added two points each in the second and third quarters.

As for the rest of the WHS scoring, Brie Walker, Brooke Campbell, Kayla Jones and Emmy Hawkins each scored two points.

For Northwest, Ava Jenkins led the way with 16 points.

Next for Whiteoak is a home game on Saturday, Jan. 4 vs. Sciotoville East.
