Hillsboro Lady Indians defeat McClain, Whiteoak in tri-meet

The Hillsboro Lady Indians prevailed on Tuesday at Hillsboro High School in a tri-meet where they defeated visiting McClain and the Whiteoak. The Lady Indians scored 95 total points in the Highland County victory, followed by the Lady Tigers in second with 60 points and Whiteoak third with 16 points.

The Lady Indians 4x800-meter relay team got the winning started by finishing with a time of 12:14, followed by McClain at 13:03.

In the 100m hurdles, Chayden Pitzer (MHS) won with a time of 15.59, followed by Aidan Chaney (HHS) 16.2, Emma Hess (HHS) 16.58 and Trish Poole (MHS) 20.25.

Pitzer (MHS) also won the 100m dash with a first-place time of 12.25, while Kensley Bailey (WHS) was second at 12.69. In third was Caoimhe Condon (HHS) at 14.38, and in fourth place was Lauren Brown (HHS) 14.68.

The 1600m run saw Ellie Howland (HHS) win with a time of 7:01, followed by Sam Bullock (HHS) 7:02, Loraleigh Mahan (HHS) 7:29 and Erika Martin (MHS) 7:40.

As for the 400m dash, Taylor Tackett (WHS) won with a time of 1:01, followed by Jaeleigh Hart (HHS) 1:06, Kaylee Hurley (MHS) 1:11 and Kenzie Adams (MHS) 1:17.

The 300m hurdles race saw Emma Hess (HHS) win with a time of 57.53, with second place going to Trish Poole (MHS) at 1:02. In third was Lucy Hart (HHS) at 1:10, and in fourth was Ciera Hatcher (HHS) 1:14.

Kaylee Hurley (MHS) won the 800m race at 2:31, followed by Molly McCreary (HHS) 2:49, Keely Schurman (HHS) 3:03 and Molly Rowe (MHS) 3:10.

Chayden Pitzer (MHS) was the 200m dash winner at 26.16, followed by Kensley Bailey (WHS) 27.52, Jaeleigh Hart (HHS) 29.0 and Ashley Hardesty (MHS) 29.63.

In the 3200m race, Sam Bullock (HHS) was the winner at 16:0, followed by Keely Schurman (HHS) 16:08 and Loraleigh Mahan (HHS) 17:12.

The pole vault winner was Hope Tira (HHS) at 7-6. Next were Trish Poole (MHS) 7-0, Ellie Elmore (HHS) 6-6 and Lucy Hart (HHS) 6-6.

Winning the high jump was Emma Hess (HHS) at 4-4, with second place going to Maddie Stapleton (MHS) at 4-2.

The long jump event went to Kensley Bailey (WHS) with a distance of 14-11.5. Next were Lauren Brown (HHS) at 13-11, Vanessa Smith (MHS) 13-10.5 and Emily Earley (HHS) 13-3.5.

Winning the shot put event was Hunter Scott (MHS) at 30-5, followed by Beth Montgomery (MHS) 30-2, Kailey Dietrick (HHS) 27-4 and Sarah Workman (HHS) 26-0.

The discus winner was Hunter Scott (MHS) at 87-1. Next were Kailey Dietrick (HHS) at 84-0, Sarah Workman (HHS) 67-11 and Heather Parker (MHS) 59-8.

In relay events, McClain won the 4x100m relay at 51.48, and HHS (A) was second at 57.8. The 4x200m relay winner was HHS (A) at 2:03, and in second was HHS (B) at 2:10. In the 4x400m relay race, MHS won at 4:44, followed by HHS (A) at 4:48.
