Hillsboro boys track and field defeats McClain, Whiteoak

The Hillsboro Indians hosted Highland County counterparts McClain and Whiteoak on Tuesday night, where the HHS boys team won the tri-team meet. The Indians totaled 84 points in the win, while the MHS Tigers were second place with 80 points and in third were the WHS Wildcats with 11 points.

In the event, the Indians 4x800-meter relay team won with a time of 9:12, while WHS was the only other team in the race, finishing with a time of 9:20. The 4x100m relay saw the Tigers win with a time of 45.85, followed by HHS (A) at 45.90 and WHS (A) at 51.31.

The Tigers won the 4x200m relay event with a time of 1:38, with HHS (A) in second at 1:40 and in third place was HHS (B) at 1:52. The Indians won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:48.51, followed by MHS (A) at 3:56.44 and in third was MHS (B) at 4:24.23.

The 100m hurdles event saw Landree Gray (MHS) win with a time of 16:39, followed by Chayce Watson (HHS) 17.33, Griffin Foltz (MHS) 18.10 and Quinn Conlon (HHS) 18.30.

Tristan Pitzer (MHS) won the 100m dash with a time of 10.9, followed by Jensen Knaff (MHS) 11.06, Jeremy Hayton (HHS) 11.33 and Austin Goolsby (HHS) 11.37.

The 1600m run saw Ty Alexander (HHS) win with a time of 5:08, followed by Micah Pinney (HHS) 5:13, Reece Schluep (MHS) 5:14 and Zach DeAtley (WHS) 5:17.

In the 400m dash, Trevor Newkirk (MHS) won with a time of 55.47, while in second place was David Jett (MHS) at 56.57. Next was Tyler Workman (HHS) 56.80, and in fourth was Johnny Free (MHS) at 1:00.06.

The 300m hurdles saw Gray win again, this time with a time of 42.65, followed by Chayce Watson (HHS) at 46.37, Griffin Foltz (MHS) 47.53 and Owen O’Connor (MHS) 47.67.

Ty Alexander (HHS) won the 800 run with a time of 2:15, followed by Britton Haines (HHS) 2:18, Reece Schluep (MHS) 2:22 and Zach DeAtley (WHS) 2:27.28.

The 200m dash was won by Tristan Pitzer (MHS) at 22.94, while Jeremy Hayton (HHS) was second place at 23.56. In third was Jensen Knaff at 23.56 and in fourth was Luke Gallimore (HHS) 24.53.

Atlee Carr (WHS) won the 3200m run at 11:34, followed by Micah Pinney (HHS) 11:46, Bailey Lucarello (HHS) 12:42 and Peyton Stuebs (MHS) 13.01.

The pole vault event was won by Austin Goolsby (HHS) 15-9, followed by Mark Gallimore (HHS) 10-6, Ethan Cockerill (MHS) 10-0 and Owen O’Connor (MHS) 9-6.

Jeremy Hayton (HHS) won the high jump at 6-2, followed by Landree Gray (MHS) 5-10, Quinn Conlon (HHS) 5-10 and Shane Elliott (WHS) 5-6.

The long jump was won by Austin Goolsby (HHS) at 21-2, while next were Tristan Pitzer (MHS) 19-11, Riley Moon (MHS) 18-1.34 and Jensen Knaff (MHS) 17-6.34.

Draven Stodgel (HHS) won the shot put at 43-1, followed by Deon Burns (HHS) at 42-5, Brady Willett (MHS) 36-2 and Jordan Pearson (MHS) 35-4.

The discus event was won by Owen O’Connor (MHS) at 113-6, followed by Jordan Pearson (MHS) 107-0, Draven Stodgel (HHS) 106-9 and Deon Burns (HHS) 101-8.
