Hard work pays off for Whiteoak track

The Whiteoak Wildcats track and field team saw the benefits of their hard work pay off, finishing as league runners-up on the boys side in the SHAC behind only Fairfield.

The Lady ‘Cats also were able to increase team scoring in several events.

Whiteoak sent nine athletes to the regionals in Lancaster this year, including:

• 4x100 relay – Shane Elliott, Cody Marion, Nick Bailey and Jacob Campbell;

• 110m hurdles – Garret Miller;

• 4x200 relay – Nick Bailey, Zach DeAtley, Cody Marion and Josh Graybeal;

• 3200m – Hunter Morgan placed 12th (11:11.16); and

• Kensley Bailey finished fifth in the long jump (16-03), qualified for finals in the 100m, finishing eighth overall (13.02), and the 200m, finishing seventh overall (27.0).
