McClain falls to host Jackson in FAC contest
In a Frontier Athletic Conference game on Thursday night (Dec. 9), the McClain Lady Tigers lost to the host Jackson Ironladies by a 39-26 score.
JHS led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, but MHS rebounded with eight points in the second frame. Jackson added six points in the second quarter for a 12-8 halftime lead over the Lady Tigers. In the third and fourth quarters Jackson won the third frame at 19-10, and both teams scored eight points in the fourth quarter.
Evelyn Vanzant led MHS with nine points, while Iva Easter scored six points for the Lady Tigers. The rest of the MHS scoring included: Madi Sykes (four points), Lily Barnes (three points), Haylee Havens (two points) and Payton Pryor (two points).

Fairfield defeats Washington
The Fairfield Lady Lions visited the Washington Lady Blue Lions on Thursday (Dec. 9) and returned from Fayette County with a 61-21 victory in non-conference play.
FHS scored 18 points in the first quarter, then added 10 points in the second for a 28-5 lead as WCH scored two points in the first quarter and three points in the second frame.
In the second half, Washington scored 13 points in the third quarter and three points in the fourth frame. Fairfield answered with a 22-point third quarter and 11 points in the fourth frame.
Emma Fouch led Fairfield with 16 points, and scoring 11 points each were Ella Newkirk and Madison Bronner. Faith Donley added eight points, Braylynn Haines scored seven points and the rest of the Fairfield scoring included Hannah Hamilton (one point), Caitlyn Quickle (two points) and Peyton Magee (five points).

Lynchburg-Clay takes down Manchester
In an SHAC game on Thursday night (Dec. 9) the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs easily defeated the host Manchester Lady Greyhounds by a 53-10 score.
In the game played at MHS, the Lady Mustangs outscored MHS 16-3 in the first quarter and 17-2 in the second frame for a halftime advantage of 33-5.
In the second half, LCHS scored 12 points in the third and eight points in the fourth quarter. Manchester scored four points in the third and one point in the final frame.
Leading the way for the Lady Mustangs were Macy Etienne with 13 points and Addison West with 12 points. Bry Price scored six points, while Jaden Moberly also scored six points. Jade Massey also added six points in the win, as did Ella Barry. Rounding out the scoring for LCHS was Allie Etienne with four points.

LCHS defeats Clinton-Massie for non-conference win
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won on the road in Clinton-County on Saturday (Dec. 11) by defeating the host Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons by a 58-43 score.
In the win, LCHS was led in scoring by Jade Massey with 18 points, and next was Macy Etienne with 14 points. Also in double figures were Bry Price with 11 points and Addison West with 10 points. Finishing the scoring for Lynchburg-Clay was Allie Etienne with nine points.

Whiteoak wins over Ripley
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats defeated the host Ripley Lady Blue Jays 52-29 for an SHAC victory on Saturday (Dec. 11).
The win by WHS saw them trail at the end of the first quarter by a 13-11 score, but they battled to a 17-6 second frame for a halftime advantage of 28-19.
In the third frame WHS won the quarter at 10-4, then in the final quarter it was WHS scoring 14 points and Ripley finishing the final frame with six points.

Lynchburg-Clay loses SHAC game to North Adams
In a Monday night (Dec. 13) game against North Adams at LCHS, the Lady Mustangs lost to their conference rival by a 49-38 score.
The loss saw Lynchburg-Clay’s quarter scoring include 14 points in the first, followed by quarter scores of nine, eight and seven, respectively. North Adams scored 11 points in the first, followed with scores of 14, six and 18 points in each of the next three frames played.
LCHS was led in the scoring column by Addison West with 14 points, followed by Bry Price with 13 points, Jade Massey with five points, Jaden Moberly with four points and Macy Etienne with two points.

Fairfield gains conference victory over Manchester
In an SHAC game on a Monday night (Dec. 13), the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated the Manchester Lady Greyhounds at FHS by a 68-19 score.
FHS led 24-9 at the end of the first quarter, and after leading the second quarter at 20-3, they built a halftime lead of 44-12.
The second half included Fairfield with nine points in the third and 15 points in the fourth quarter. Manchester had four points in the third frame and three points in the fourth.
Emma Fouch led FHS with 13 points, while Peyton Magee, Madison Bronner and Braylynn Haines each scored 10 points.
The rest of the FHS scoring included: Faith Donley (six points), Hannah Hamilton (four points), Caitlyn Quickle (four points), Ginny Trent (three points), Ella Newkirk (two points), Kassie Miller (two points), Kelsey Clark (two points) and Shaleigh Duncan (two points).

LCHS wins at Huntington
Playing at Rio Grande, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs were able to easily defeat Huntington by an 82-57 score on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 18).
In the win, LCHS scored 21 points in the first quarter, then had quarter scoring of 18, 22 and 18 points. Huntington scored 14 points in the opening quarter, then scored 12, 20 and 11 in the next three frames played.
Macy Etienne scored 31 points for LCHS, making six 3-pointers. Jade Massey finished with 20 points, while Addison West totaled 19 points. Bry Price finished with 10 points, and Ella Barry scored two points.

Lady Mustangs win against Ripley
It was another SHAC win for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs on Monday night (Dec. 20), defeating the Ripley Lady Blue Jays by a 68-19 score at RHS.
LCHS led 18-6 after the first quarter was finished, and with LCHS winning the second frame at 16-6, it was a Lady Mustangs lead of 34-12 at halftime.
LCHS led 51-19 after three quarters when they outscored the host team 17-7 in the third, then LCHS outscored the Lady Blue Jays 17-0 in the fourth frame to seal the win.
Lynchburg-Clay’s leading scorer was Jade Massey with 17 points, while Macy Etienne had 14 points and Bry Price finished with 12 points.
The rest of the LCHS scoring included: Addison West (seven), Jaden Moberly (six), Ella Barry (five), Allie Etienne (four) and Kalyn Rich (three).

Fairfield wins at East Clinton
The Fairfield Lady Lions picked up a road victory in non-conference play on Thursday night (Dec. 23) by defeating the host East Clinton Lady Astros, 59-32.
In the win over ECHS, the Lady Lions scored 13 points in the first quarter and seven points in the second. East Clinton scored seven points in the first quarter and 10 points in the second frame, leading to a halftime score of 20-17 in favor of the Lady Lions.
The second half included a third quarter where Fairfield outscored the Lady Astros 24-10 and a fourth frame where FHS were the winners at 15-5.
Fairfield saw Emma Fouch led the scoring with 19 points, while Braylynn Haines scored 15 points. Peyton Magee finished with nine points, while Ella Newkirk and Faith Donley each scored eight points.
