Fairfield wins in 3 sets over county counterpart Whiteoak

LEESBURG — Thursday night saw the Fairfield Lady Lions keep their undefeated status in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference intact with a win over their Highland County counterpart, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, in three straight sets.
Fairfield won by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.
The Lady Lions had McKinley Cox finish with two kills, one assist, one dig and one block. Jobey Hattan ended with 11 kills, one assist, two aces and 23 digs. Jadi Howland for the Lady Lions ended the contest with three digs.
Fairfield’s Peyton Magee had 12 kills, one assist, two aces and nine digs in the SHAC win. Teammate Faith Miller totaled three kills, 30 assists, two aces, nine digs and a block. Paris Priest finished with six kills, two assists, three digs and a block.
Shelby Rice had one assist, three aces and seven digs for the Lady Lions. Mikalah Sheridan finished with six digs, and Haley Shoemaker totaled five kills, one dig and one block. Also for FHS, Mackenzie Anderson had three total attempts.
For WHS, Claire Ames had three kills, two assists, six digs and six blocks. Brooke Campbell finished with one kill, two assists, one ace, 14 digs, and three blocks. Lydia Carr totaled three kills, one ace, 15 kills and three blocks.
Also for the Lady ’Cats, Brianna Hill had seven kills, one assist, one ace, eight digs and five blocks. Elly McMullen collected one kill and three digs. Georgia Neuhaus ended the contest with one kill, and two blocks. Reagan Newton had two kills and two blocks. Adrionna Phillips finished with 12 assists, 10 digs and two blocks.
The Lady ’Cats also had Addison Roberts total five digs, and teammate Brianna Walker totaled six digs. Also for WHS, Kayla Sanderson had four passes.
WHS with the loss stands at 2-3 in the SHAC Division II standings and 5-5 overall.
The following night, on Friday, Sept. 16, the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated West Union in SHAC action in four sets. FHS won the first set with a 25-10 score, while WUHS won set two at 25-16. The Lady Lions battled back with a set three win at 25-14 and set four victory at 25-20 to win the match.
The two wins improves the SHAC record of FHS to 7-0 in the Division I standings and 8-2 overall.
