The following are Highland County boys and girls basketball recaps for Dec. 3-22.

Hillsboro Indians win at Paint Valley
The Hillsboro Indians returned to the court on Tuesday (Dec. 22), and on the road they defeated the Paint Valley Bearcats by a 66-53 score in non-conference action.
The Indians were led in scoring by Hunter Price with 29 points, as Price totaled 13 two-point baskets and was 3-of-5 from the free-throw line. Brad Miller was next with 14 points, with six two-point buckets and a 2-of-2 performance from the free-throw line.
Jakwon Clark finished with nine points for the Indians, while Ryan Scott totaled seven points in the win. Clark and Scott each made one 3-pointer.
Quintin Captain finished with three points for Hillsboro (a 3-pointer), and scoring two points each were Coltin Hunter and Nick Lewis.

Fairfield rebounds with win over South Point
The Fairfield Lady Lions earned a non-conference win on Tuesday (Dec. 22) with a non-conference victory over the visiting South Point Lady Pointers by a 55-25 score at Grandle Gymnasium.
In the win for the Lady Lions, Emma Fouch led with 16 points, making two two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and she was 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Also in double-figure scoring was Ella Newkirk with 13 points, as she finished with two two-point baskets and three 3-pointers.
Madison Bronner totaled 10 points in the victory with three two-point baskets and finishing 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. The remainder of the scoring came from Peyton Magee and Braylynn Haines with eight points apiece. Magee sank two 3-pointers in her scoring.

Whiteoak Wildcats lose road game at Glenwood New Boston
The non-conference matchup between the Whiteoak Wildcats and the home team Glenwood New Boston Tigers resulted in a loss for the Wildcats, as they fell to the hosts by a 74-55 score.
Leading the way in the scoring column was Carson Emery with 15 points, as he finished the game with six two-point baskets and one 3-pointer.
Brad Ashbaugh was second in scoring for the Wildcats with 14 points in the non-conference game as he finished with three two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and he was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Nick Bailey finished with 12 points for Whiteoak, as he collected four two-point baskets and was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Other scoring for WHS included four points each by Bryce Bailey and Hogan Walker and three points each from Landon Barnett and Luken Roades.

Fairfield Lions lose at EC in double OT
The Fairfield Lions lost in double overtime on Saturday (Dec. 19) to the host East Clinton Astros by a 53-50 score.
In the game, the Lions were led by Tytis Cannon with 21 points, followed by Connor Priest with 11 points.
Also in the scoring column for the Lions were Koben Zink with seven points, Jon Bentley with four points, Brayden Zimmerman with four points and Tucker Watson with three points.

WHS falls to Manchester
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a SHAC contest to the Manchester Lady Greyhounds at WHS by a 70-36 score.
WHS trailed 19-5 after the first frame, and after a 16-7 second frame WHS trailed 35-12 at halftime. In the third frame, the Lady ’Cats were outscored 18-12, and in the final quarter Manchester outscored WHS, 17-12.
Individual scoring for the game wasn’t provided.

Lady Lions drop non-conference contest to Williamsburg
The Fairfield Lady Lions dropped a home non-conference game on Saturday (Dec. 19) to the visiting Williamsburg Lady Wildcats, 68-30 at Grandle Gymnasium.
Seven players from Fairfield scored points in the loss with Emma Fouch leading the way with 11 points, as she also made three 3-pointers. In the game, Fouch set a new program record for most 3-pointers in a career.
Also for the Lady Lions, Ella Newkirk finished with six points (two 3-pointers), Peyton Magee totaled three points, Madison Bronner totaled four points, and scoring two points each were Faith Donley, Emma Vance and Shaleigh Duncan.
Magee led FHS with six rebounds and four assists. Magee and Newkirk tied for the lead in steals with two each.

LCHS Lady Mustangs drop SHAC game to Eastern
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game on Thursday (Dec. 17) to the visiting Eastern Lady Warriors by a 62-45 score at LCHS.
Jade Massey was the leading scorer for the Lady Mustangs with 13 points, as the freshman collected two two-point baskets and two 3-pointers.
Next was Sierra Benney with 10 points, as she made one 3-pointer, two two-point baskets and she finished 3-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Also in the scoring column for Lynchburg-Clay were Bry Price with six points, Addison West with four points, Macy Etienne with three points (one 3-pointer), Serene Walker with four points and Ella Barry with five points.

Whiteoak girls basketball loses to East Clinton
A mid-week non-conference game for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats resulted in a loss, as they went on the road and fell to the host East Clinton Lady Astros by a score of 62-25.
In the loss it was Whiteoak being led by Jaylie Parr with 13 points, as she totaled five two-point baskets and made one 3-pointer.
Molly McMullen was next with five points in the game, and Madison Thompson finished with three points. Scoring two points each were Lydia Carr and Brooke Campbell.

Whiteoak loses against West Union on the road
The SHAC matchup of the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats and the West Union Lady Dragons saw the Lady ’Cats fall by a 59-26 score.
Molly McMullen led WHS with eight points, as she finished with three two-point buckets and made two free throws. Jaylie Parr was next with seven points, including one two-point basket, a 3-pointer and two converted free throws.
Other WHS scoring against West Union included four points from Brianna Hill, three points by Lydia Carr and two points each from Kara Ward and Madison Thompson.

Lady Indians lost at Fayetteville in non-conference showdown
The Hillsboro Lady Indians lost to the host Fayetteville Lady Rockets in non-conference action by a 55-41 score at Fayetteville High School.
In the loss, the Lady Indians were led by Gracie Dean with 18 points, while teammate Eden Edenfield scored 17 points, Also in the game, Brynn Bledsoe finished with four points, and Rylie Scott added two points.

LCHS falls to North Adams
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost to the host North Adams Lady Green Devils, 66-41 in a Thursday night SHAC contest.
LCHS trailed 24-9 at the end of the first quarter, and following a 17-9 second frame in favor of the Lady Green Devils, it was LCHS trailing 41-18 at halftime. In the second half, LCHS won the third frame at 14-7, then in the fourth quarter it was NAHS winning the final frame at 18-9.
Leading LCHS in scoring was Addison West with 13 points, followed by Jade Massey and Serene Walker with eight points each. Rounding our the Lady Mustang scoring was Bry Price with seven points, and Macy Etienne with five points.

Whiteoak loses SHAC game on road at Peebles
In a Southern Hills Athletic Conference contest on a Monday night in December, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats were unable to gain a SHAC win as they lost to the host Peebles Lady Indians by a 77-37 score.
Seven players scored points for WHS in the loss, with Jaylie Parr leading the way with double-digit scoring at 10 points. Parr sank two 3-pointers and scored four more points on two two-point baskets.
Also in the scoring column was Molly McMullen and Kara Ward with seven points each. McMullen totaled three two-point buckets and was 1-of-1 from the free-throw line. Ward collected two two-point baskets and a 3-pointer, which came in the first quarter.
Others to contribute to the WHS scoring against Peebles were Lydia Carr with six points (two 3-pointers), Brianna Hill with four points, Kayla Jones with two points and Brooke Campbell with one point.

Lady ‘Cats drop road game at Piketon
In an away non-conference game on Saturday, Dec. 5, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats fell to the host Piketon Redstreaks by a 68-18 score at PHS.
The away loss saw WHS led in scoring by Lydia Carr and Jaylie Parr with five points each. Carr scored a 3-pointer and was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Parr finished with two two-point baskets and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Scoring two points each for Whiteoak were Molly McMullen, Kara Ward, Kayla Jones and Emmy Hawkins.

WHS falls in SHAC game to Fayetteville
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost at home to the Fayetteville Lady Rockets by a 56-21 score in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game played at Whiteoak High School.
In the loss, the leading scorer for the Lady ’Cats was Lydia Carr with eight points, as she made one 3-pointer and two two-point baskets. Also scoring points for WHS was Molly McMullen with five points with one two-point basket and three made free throws on eight attempts.
Jaylie Parr finished with four points as she collected two made free throws on four attempts and one two-point basket, and she was followed on the scoring sheet by Kelsey Monteith with three points (a 3-pointer) and one point scored by Brooke Campbell from the free-throw line.
