Whiteoak defeats Georgetown by 13 runs
The Whiteoak Wildcats didn’t mess around on Thursday afternoon, as they defeated the visiting Georgetown G-Men by a 14-1 score at Whiteoak High School. The win also gave Whiteoak head coach Chris Veidt his 400th career victory.
In the win, the Wildcats scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, followed by five runs in the second. The third inning saw three more runs cross the plate for the Wildcats, and in the fourth inning, WHS scored three final runs.
Georgetown scored their lone run in the top of the third. For the game, the Wildcats totaled 16 hits and 11 RBI.
Ian Griffith led WHS at the plate by finishing 4-of-4 with two RBI, two doubles and two steals.
Landon Barnett went 3-for-4 with three runs, a double and three RBI. Luken Roades finished 2-for-3 with three runs, one RBI, one walk and two steals. Carson Emery finished 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI, two doubles and one steal.
Also for WHS, Connor Butler was 2-for-3 with three runs, a double and two steals. Nate Price ended his day for the Wildcats 1-for-3 with two runs, one RBI and two steals. Dakota Clift was 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
Whiteoak also had two walks and a steal from David Donohoo. David Kennedy had one walk, and Kaden Moon-Stone was 1-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.
Moon-Stone was the winning pitcher as he pitched all five innings, allowing one earned run on six hits and one walk. He collected six strikeouts in 22 at-bats.
“Kaden Moon-Stone goes the distance (five innings) for his first varsity win. We scored 11 two-out runs today, which was simply outstanding,” Veidt said. “We had a quality at-bat percentage of 64 percent, which was another impressive stat.
“We continue to play outstanding team defense as well. Ian Griffith, Landon Barnett, Carson Emery and Connor Butler had outstanding days at the plate today.”

Indians win big at East Clinton
The Hillsboro Indians baseball team score on Thursday resembled a football score as they defeated the host East Clinton Astros, 20-6 in non-conference action at ECHS.
The Indians scored 11 runs in their first three innings at the plate, scoring one run in the top of the first, followed by a four-run second inning, then they added six runs in the third inning.
East Clinton responded with four runs in the bottom of the third, but HHS was there with an answer of their own by tallying nine runs in the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, the Astros scored two runs.
HHS finished the game with 17 hits and one error, while East Clinton collected four hits and committed four errors.
For HHS in the victory, Ryan Scott was 3-for-5 with three runs and four RBI. Quintin Captain went 2-for-3 with three runs, and Ethan Grooms had one RBI and one walk.
The Indians also had a 1-for-2 day by Hunter Green where he also collected an RBI, while teammate Liam Stewart was 1-for-3 with one run and two RBI. Coltin Hunter went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Lance Hainline scored one run for HHS, and Spencer Wyckoff went 2-for-4 with one walk and two runs scored. Brayden Cochran finished 1-for-3 with one run, one RBI and one walk.
Cullen Barney finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Brad Miller went 1-for-2 with three runs, one RBI and one walk. Jeremy Kemper ended the day with a 3-for-4 game with four runs, three RBI and one walk.
HHS had doubles from Scott, Barney, Miller, Kemper and Captain. Barney, Miller, Hainline and Cochran were all hit by a pitch.
Captain was the winning pitcher as he pitched 2.1 innings for the Indians. He allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks, with one strikeout. Ethan Grooms pitched 1.2 innings of relief as he allowed four runs (two earned) on one hit and five walks, also striking out one batter. Tanner Warner pitched one inning of relief, allowing no hits, runs or walks, with two strikeouts.
