4 from Highland County selected All-Ohio baseball for 2019

Four baseball players from Highland County were recently selected to the Division III and Division IV All-Ohio teams by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association for their play during the spring of 2019.
Players selected were two first-team players from Whiteoak High School, as senior Traeten Hamilton and junior Zach Harless were selected to the top list in Division IV, while teammate and senior Evan Brill was selected to the second-team in Division IV. The Wildcats were the champions of Division II in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference in 2019.

Lynchburg-Clay senior Drew Pitzer was selected as honorable mention for his contribution for the Mustangs, as they were the SHAC Division I champions this season.
This season, Pitzer batted .455 at the plate for LCHS, with an on-base percentage of .552 and a slugging percentage of .597. In 77 at-bats, Pitzer also totaled 35 hits, four doubles, three triples, one home run, 18 walks and 20 steals, and he also had 48-percent in quality at-bats. The senior also struck out just seven times.
On the mound, Pitzer was 6-1 on the season with one save, throwing 29.1 innings. He totaled 49 strikeouts and had a 3.818 ERA.
Pitzer is the fourth LC baseball player since 1993 to be selected All-Ohio, as those players were Paul Cluxton (second-team), Joe Wells (first-team), Cory Snider (first-team) and Devin Pierson (honorable mention).
As for the Whiteoak players, Hamilton in his first-team selection in Division IV played in 27 games (85 at-bats) totaling 45 runs, 38 hits, four doubles, four triples, two home runs, 56 total bases, 24 walks, 43 steals and 20 RBI. He also had a batting average of .447 with a .581 on-base percentage and .659 slugging percentage.
On the mound, Hamilton pitched in six games, where in 28.2 innings pitched he had an ERA of 1.22 with just five earned runs allowed. He also finished 4-2 on the season, while striking out 50 batters.
In 30 games played in 2019, Harless had 102 at-bats with 36 runs scored, along with 43 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, 64 total bases, 17 walks, 26 steals and 37 RBI. Harless batted .422, while also compiling an on-base percentage of .496 and .627 slugging percentage.
In his junior season on the mound, Harless had an ERA of 1.86 in 10 appearances (26.1 innings). Harless also collected seven earned runs allowed, with 23 strikeouts and a record of 3-1, plus one save.
Brill played in 30 games this past season, totaling 98 at-bats with a .286 batting average, along with a .408 on-base percentage and .367 slugging percentage. He also totaled 17 runs, 28 hits, two doubles, three triples, 36 total bases, 19 walks, 13 steals and 26 RBI.
On the mound, Brill was the ace of the pitching staff, where in 51 innings (nine games) he had a 1.65 ERA. Brill struck out 60 batters, where he finished 7-1 overall with one shutout.
