11 Highland County girls basketball players named to Coaches All-District list; Dean named Co-Player of the Year in Div. II

Eleven Highland County girls basketball players have been recognized on the 2021-22 District 14 Coaches Association All-District list — including a co-Player of the Year — as released by the Association Thursday, March 3.

All five Highland County schools were represented on the list for the season, with five players in Division II, four players in Division III and two players in Division IV being named to the list.

Leading the way in Division II was Hillsboro senior Gracie Dean, who was not only named to the first team but earned Co-Player of the Year honors for Div. II, along with Chillicothe junior Jacey Harding. Dean was also selected as the representative for the Division II North/South All-Star Game.

Also in Division II, Hillsboro senior Brianna Bledsoe and McClain junior Payton Pryor were named to the second team.

Earning Div. II Honorable Mention recognition were McClain senior Iva Easter and Hillsboro freshman Blake Herdman.

In Division III, Highland County had one first-team honoree in Fairfield senior Emma Fouch. Lynchburg-Clay sophomore Jade Massey was named to the second team.

Named Div. III Honorable Mention were Lynchburg-Clay sophomore Macy Etienne and Fairfield junior Peyton Magee.

For Division IV, Whiteoak had two players recognized. Sophomore Jaylie Parr earned second-team honors, while freshmen Darby Yeager was named Honorable Mention.
