Some will argue we live in a republic; others may say we live in a democracy. I say both are wrong. We live in a dictatorship. It is not the old-fashioned type of dictatorship with one leader, it has many leaders ensconced in all the various bureaucracies. 

Whether it be communism or terrorism, a faction of America will not admit that those ideas are evil. If evil can’t be identified, neither can good. As a result, America becomes just another country in the world instead a beacon of hope. When that happens, evil will take over.

The annual Mowrystown Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 2. This year's theme will be "Jingle Bell Christmas," and Chuck Wait has been selected to serve as the grand marshal.

It is our hope that today will be a day of real Thanksgiving for every one, that it will contain much joy and gladness and that no one will overlook an opportunity to cause some less fortunate brother to have real cause to give thanks. 

It is time for the 17th annual Christmas Tour of Homes in Greenfield hosted by the Greenfield Historical Society. The $10 tour will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 and will feature three homes, a new bakery and the B&O Depot.  

Too many people haven’t been taught about the atrocities associated with communism, and too many people are making money working with the Chinese. As a result, modern-day America has lost its moral bearings and doesn’t know the difference between good and evil.

Highland County will receive $750,000 to assist the village of Greenfield with sanitary sewer line replacements. The village’s current collection system is plagued by severe inflow and infiltration, causing wastewater to flow to the surface across the village. T

Coal Shed Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of “The Streets Of Greenfield,” a book by Eric Grate. “The Streets Of Greenfield” is a collection of 18 short stories set in Greenfield between 1946 and 2023. 

A fundraising event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 for Highland County sheriff candidate Randy Sanders.

The Greenfield Exempted Village School District Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 20 in the Rainsboro Elementary cafeteria at 7 p.m.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and members of Ohio’s Congressional delegation welcomed a $16,093,311 investment to hire and retain 129 law enforcement officers to serve 21 communities and law enforcement agencies across Ohio. Included in the investment is $125,000 to the Village of Greenfield to hire one new law enforcement officer.
