A Springfield, Ohio man was sentenced in U.S. District Court this month to 20 years in prison for committing federal hate crimes targeting and attacking Haitian nationals residing in the area.
A Highland County grand jury handed down 32 indictments, including four unrelated cases involved second-degree felony assault charges, in their Tuesday, Sept. 12 session.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced last week that Navy Seaman 1st Class James R. Ward, 20, of Springfield, Ohio, killed during World War II, and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, was accounted for on Aug. 19, 2021.
