Three people charged with unrelated first-degree felony offenses were among the 19 indictments handed down by a Highland County grand jury in their Tuesday, Dec. 5 session.

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle, single fatality crash. The crash occurred Nov. 9 at approximately 4:42 p.m. on state Route 73 near mile post 16 in Green Township, Clinton County.

A dozen individuals were indicted in the Nov. 7. Highland County grand jury session, including a Reynoldsburg man indicted on three counts.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack Wednesday announced that USDA is awarding $266 million in loans and grants to agriculture producers and rural small businesses to make investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements that will lower their energy costs, generate new income and strengthen the resilience of their operation.

Following a second appeal attempt by a New Vienna man found guilty of murder and rape after a jury trial in Highland County in 2019, the Fourth District Court of Appeals has affirmed the judgment in his direct appeal.
