WC’s Duncan lowers program record, becomes All-American

Wilmington College’s Faith Duncan finished up a historically good first indoor season for the Quakers Saturday evening, as she competed in the 3000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

She finished the race in 9:39.47 to place seventh and take home All-American honors for the first time in her career. 

Duncan (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon HS) becomes the first Quakers All-American in the 3000-meter run in the Ron Combs coaching era (1997-present). The time lowers her program record in the event.

Duncan is the first women's indoor track & field All-American for Wilmington since Mackenzie Willis in the pole vault in 2011. She is the first one to do it on the track since Callen Martin was the 55-meter dash indoor National Champion in 2010.

Duncan was in the top three for much of the race, keeping pace for second place. She fell back over the final few laps, but still destroyed her previous personal best of 9:43.87.
