Tigers knock Tanks off course

GREENFIELD - It was all McClain Tigers Tuesday night as they ran over the Unioto Sherman-Tanks 53-35 in their non-league contest at McClain High School.
MHS (8-6) led 10-3 after the first quarter and took a halftime lead of 22-12.
In the third quarter, each team scored 15 points, and MHS won the fourth at 16-8.
MHS senior Lucas Polley led with 14 points, sinking two 3-pointers. Polley also led the Tigers with four steals.
L.T. Walters made one 3-pointer, finishing with 13 total points. Caleb Gregory also sank a 3-ball to end the contest with nine points.
Logan Wise gained six points, followed by Zach Matracia with five. Matracia gained a team-high five boards for the Tigers. Wise sank two 3-pointers.
Kameron Mace, Scott Balzer and Zack Mullikin each scored two points.
MHS shot 18 of 45 for 40 percent from the field, while UHS finished at 13 of 34 for 38 percent.
From the free-throw line MHS was 11 of 13 for 85 percent. MHS didn't shoot a free-throw until the third quarter.
Quentin Detillion led the Shermans with 12 points.
MHS had 22 rebounds, with UHS grabbing 18. The Tigers had seven turnovers, while forcing 15.
MHS will host the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles Saturday.
