Tigers hand Panthers first SCOL loss; win 6th straight game

     EBER — The McClain Tigers traveled to Miami Trace Wednesday afternoon and went home in winning fashion. MHS handed the Panthers their first South Central Ohio League loss of the year, 8-4 at MTHS.
    The win marks the sixth straight victory for the Tigers.
    MHS senior Logan Wise picked up his second win of the season on the mound. The  left-hander worked 6 1-3 innings, striking out six and walking four. Wise (2-0) gave up four hits and four runs (one earned).  
    Jacob Dillon earned the save for the Tigers working out of a bases loaded jam in the final inning.
    Bryce DeWeese suffered the loss for the Panthers.
    The Tigers pounded out eight hits on the day. Dustin Taylor was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Zack Mullikin was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
    MHS jumped on the Panthers early.
    Wise led off the game with a walk and stole second. Dillon had a bunt-single which advanced Wise to third. Dillon stole second and Zach Uhl followed with a walk. Taylor cleared the bases with a double to centerfield.
    The Tigers added insurance runs in the third, sixth and seventh innings.
    "Logan pitched a great game," MHS head coach Brandon Streitenberger said. "He worked out of some jams and hit his spots. Miami Trace has a solid team, and this was a good win for us."
