SSCC dominates OSU-Mansfield

The Southern State men's basketball team scored 50-plus points in the first half against OSU-Mansfield, leading to a dominating 100-69 win for the Patriots Sunday at the Patriot Center.
In the 100 points scored, SSCC (1-1) made 42 field goals (all two-point shots), along with a 16-of-25 effort from the free-throw line.
Jeremy Bennington led the Patriots with a game-high 33 points, making 13 shots from the field, scoring 21 second-half points. He was 7-of-10 from the free-throw line, making five in the final half.
Isaiah Felder scored 18 for SSCC, followed by Clint Boring with 17. Kevin Royal scored 17 for the Patriots, the fourth Patriot to finish with double-digit scoring.
Others scoring for SSCC included Ryan Beasley with six points, Ross Daniel with four, and Austin Smith, who also scored four.
Anthony Parker Jr. and Leon Smith each scored two points.
SSCC outscored OSU-Mansfield 54-33 in the first half and 46-36 in the second half.
Patrick Horn led OSU-Mansfield with 18 points, making six 3-pointers.
