Lady Patriots fall to OSU-Mansfield

The Lady Patriots of Southern State dropped their home opener at the Patriot Center Sunday afternoon to OSU-Mansfield, 84-65.
SSCC (1-1) trailed 34-27 at the half but came back with a 38-point effort in the second half, while OSU-Mansfield scored 50 in the same half.
Leading SSCC in scoring was Skye Lucas with 16 points, scoring five two-point shots and two 3-pointers.
Caitlin Davis scored 13 points, including one 3-pointer with an 6-of-8 effort from the free-throw line. Jessica Sexton scored 11 points, going 2-of-2 from the free-throw line, along with one 3-pointer and three two-point baskets.
Karissa Shivener had eight points for SSCC, followed by Breanna Knauff, Brittany Walker and Samantha Frost with five points each. Jackie Fannin scored two points.
For OSU-Mansfield, four players scored in double figures, including Jessica White with a game-high 19 points, followed with 17-point efforts by Olivia Porter and Courtney Ryan. Atricia Bratley had 13 points.
OSU-Mansfield was 23-of-33 from the free-throw line.
