Lady Mustangs fall to NA

SEAMAN — One three-point quarter was all it took for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs to drop their makeup Southern Hills League game against the North Adams Lady Green Devils, Wednesday evening at NAHS. NA outscored LC in the final three quarters to defeat the visiting team, 54-43.
LC won the first eight minutes played at 12-11, but after the buzzer sounded to end the first frame, LC was unable to outscore NA.
North Adams outscored LC, 11-3 in the second quarter to take a 22-15 halftime lead. In the third, NA scored 16 points, compared to the 13 by the Lady Mustangs.
In the fourth quarter, NA had 16 points and LC scored 15.
Lillian Blankenship led LC with 14 points, three assists, two steals, two rebounds and one blocked shot.
Laney Lewis had a double-double with 14 rebounds and 10 points. She added four blocked shots, two assists and one steal to her overall totals.
Brooke Hertlein finished with eight points (5-of-6 from the free-throw line) with 11 rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.
Also scoring for LC was Hannah Blankenship, five points (five rebounds, two steals), Meredith Fittro, three points (five rebounds) and Karen Hilt with three points. Emma Setty had one rebound.
LC was 11-of-46 shooting from the field (24 percent) and 4-of-17 from the three-point line (24 percent). Overall, LC shot 15-of-63 for 24 percent. The Lady Mustangs also tallied 38 rebounds and 22 turnovers.[[In-content Ad]]
