Hillsboro's Pelfrey 4th in Women's Amateur 3 division at US Women’s Disc Golf Championship

Sara Pelfrey of Hillsboro placed fourth in the 2024 Women's Amateur 3 division in the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship. 

Pelfrey recently participated in the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship, held March 21- 24 in Austin, Texas. Battling hurricane-like winds Sunday in Texas, Pelfrey placed fourth in the Women's Amateur 3 division.

She will participate in the 2024 Professional Disc Golf Association Amateur Disc Golf World Championships, which will be held Aug. 6-10 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Pelfrey has only been playing the sport for about a year and already had success, participating in 31 tournaments with 13 wins. 

Pelfrey works in Hillsboro as a manager at Classics Diner. She and her husband, Clinton, have plans to give Hillsboro another disc golf course by next year.
