'Goofy Golf' Tournament set for April 28 in Hillsboro

The SAR Highlanders Chapter is sponsoring the annual “Goofy Golf” Tournament Sunday, April 28 at the Hillsboro Elks 361 Golf Course.

The event is open to the public, especially anybody who hasn’t played golf before or hasn’t played in years. Registration begins at noon, followed by tee-off at 1 p.m.

The fee is $35 per person, with proceeds benefiting the planned Revolutionary War monuments at the Highland County Courthouse. Hole sponsorships are available for $50.

If you say you can’t golf, then you are the perfect golfer for this match. If you have never played golf or haven't for a while, this is the time to come out. The only rules are that 1) there are no rules and 2) refer to the first rule.

Snacks will be provided, and there will be door prizes and raffles. A beans and cornbread cook-off contest, a 50/50 raffle and a goofiest dressed contest will also be held.
