Entire Lady Tiger team scores in 82-40 win over London

     GREENFIELD – The McClain Lady Tigers were 12 of 12 in the scoring column Friday night as all 12 players on the team put points on the board against the London Lady Red Raiders, defeating London 82-40 in South Central Ohio League play.

     The win keeps McClain undefeated at 6-0 overall, 4-0 in the SCOL.

     MHS led by 10 points after the first quarter by a score of 16-6. MHS dominated the second with a 20-point outburst, leading 36-14 after two quarters.

     The second half was the same as the first half for MHS, netting 24 points in the third and 12 points in the final quarter. London scored 26 combined points in the second half.

     The loss drops the Lady Red Raiders 2-3 overall.

     Jenna Perie led all scorers with 14 points, making five shots from the field and four free throws. Perie had nine rebounds on the defensive side of the basket.

     Cortney Hyer and Kate Hammond, both seniors, each scored 12 points. Hyer made six shots from the floor. Hammond made five baskets and two free throws. Hammond also compiled six assists. 

     Shelby Buck, who had five assists, scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers making two 3-pointers. Megan Saylor scored nine points, followed by Chrissy Cobb with seven. Senior Savanna Brown sank a 3-pointer, finishing with five points.

     Kate Crabtree and Alex Taylor each gained four points. Frankie Wise and Megan Hogle each had two points, and Sammy Rooks had one point with a free throw.

     MHS shot 14 of 16 from the free-throw line for 81 percent. The Lady Tigers out rebounded LHS 39-13, with Crabtree also gaining nine boards for the Lady Tigers.

     In the assist category MHS led with 22 compared to six by the Lady Red Raiders. MHS had 13 steals, with LHS having eight.

     The Lady Tigers shot 33 of 60 for 55 percent from the floor, with LHS shooting 15 of 40 for 38 percent. LHS finished with 23 turnovers (MHS 19 turnovers).

     Crager led LHS with 15 points, followed by Miller with 13. Miller sank three 3-pointers. Toth had 10 points and Whitelow had two for the Lady Red Raiders.

     LHS shot 7 of 12 from the free-throw line for 58 percent.

     The Lady Tigers will play again Monday at home against Adena.

     In JV play MHS won 51-17.
