The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) recently announced their Girls Players of the Year for the 2022-23 season, including Eastern Brown’s Rylee Leonard.
Leonard was selected as the Player of the Year for Division III. She averaged 28.9 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game while leading her team to a record of 18-5.
“Rylee is a true competitor that can really score the ball,” Eastern head coach Kevin Pickerill said. “She has definitely left an impact not only on our team and league, but in southeast Ohio. She has brought a lot of positive attention to our program that we hope carries on through many of our younger kids.
“She has set the bar extremely high with her work ethic during the season and the offseason. We hope that continues throughout her journey at the next level.”
Other Players of the Year for Ohio included Madison Greene of Pickerington Central, Division I; Lily Bottomley of Canal Fulton Northwest, Division II; and Rylee Saegester of Tri-Village, Division IV.
